Bridging channel, attached to steel studs with clips or welds, is one of the most common bridging methods used to provide resistance to stud rotation and minor axis bending under wind and axial loads. Bridging channel is passed through the stud knock-out and secured with Bridging Clips and screws. Lateral bracing is typically installed at a maximum of 48” o.c.

- Bridging clips must be used with screws to brace steel stud framing properly. Bridging channel does not provide proper bracing if it is not adequately attached to the steel framing member
