  Position Summary

  The Design Detailer’s main responsibility is to detail production design drawings in accordance with customer requirements in a safe, productive, and profitable manner.

  What you’ll do:
  

  • Read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, and other drawings
  • Assist with the development of company drawing standards and refinement of existing standards.
  • Document and maintain drawing procedures and work instructions.
  • Create drawings following customer requirements and engineering design using Autodesk Revit, ensuring all works stay within the
    established scope
  • Work with design engineer(s) to ensure drawings meet all design requirements
  • Coordinate with the project manager(s) and/or project coordinator(s), and inform PM/PC of any variation from the scope of work.
  • Prepare orders for production, including the creation of machine files and required paperwork
  • Continuously improve drafting procedures to exceed quality and productivity requirements
  • All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required by the supervisor

  What you’ll need:

  • Diploma in Engineering/Architectural Technology or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of detailing experience in a fabrication setting
  • Proficient with Autodesk Revit and Excel
  • Working knowledge of framing is an asset
  • Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
  • Self-driven with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork mentality

  Position Summary

  • Review work order specifications to determine proper machine setup for inputting correct sizes into computer 
  • Interact with other slitting line positions reviewing and applying work order details to slitting line operation 
  • Set-up person verifies next Production Run with the Operator and/or Supervisor/Manager 
  • Setting up the head properly based on the set-up computer printout. 
  • Checking for the proper orientation of the knives after the set-up is finished 
  • Stripping down the next head before setting up and clean and sort back knives and rubbers into proper locations 
  • Inspect knives daily for cleanliness and sharpness and organize sets to be sent for sharpening 
  • Assist Operator to perform visual quality checks of slit edge, coil flatness, and material surface condition (both top and bottom) 
  • Assist Operator to perform measurement checks of material using calipers, tape measures, and micrometers. Verify measurements fall within an acceptable range of work order specifications. 
  • Report any and all quality concerns to supervision and management 
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgement

  The main function of the Packaging Line is to take slit material and package it to customer’s specifications. This may include material that is stand-up or material that needs to be placed on skids.
  
  The Packaging Line Operator acts as the ‘lead’ for the two- or three-man crew. As such, he will be responsible to direct the material movement from slitting through to material handling.
  
  The Packager(s) will work with the Packaging Line Operator to ensure the safe delivery of finished product to the FG storage areas.
  
  Job progression includes Back End/Bander and Set-up operator

  Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  The responsibilities and accountabilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring proper packaging of material including tagging coils/skidded slits and strapping/stacking slits. This will entail checking the Production Orders for the instructions whether to use tape or banding to secure the cuts as well as determining the number of each necessary for safe packages.
  • Inspect the material for potential quality issues for slitting defects and report concerns promptly
  • Correctly weighing of material and inputting that information into computer.
  • Ensure stickers are on appropriate cuts.
  • Separate slits (crane) for stand up material
  • Down end slits as needed
  • Supply proper skids to packaging line. This will include checking with the Production crew for the ‘next’ orders to ensure skids are made to size and quantity as required.
  • Paperwrap skids, material, spacers, etc. as needed.
  • Complete packager’s checklist (inputting skid info, lift tag creation, tag skidded slits, weight calculation for mults/slits)
  • ID Band (with and without spacers).
  • Ensure amount of coils going on skids is correct as per the order including weight and lift requirements.
  • Remove skidded slits from line (via forklift) and stack in assigned row
  • When removing material to Finished Goods storage areas, ensure that the material is safely put away into the proper storage location. Typically packaged skids may be stacked 7 feet high.
  • Ensure the line is turned off at the end of the shift.
  • Operate the crane /forklift safely at all times.
  • Demonstrates good housekeeping and maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • All other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or required by the supervisor

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and previous experience manufacturing industry
  • Excellent command of the English language including strong verbal and written communication

  Management

  • Oversees the activities and provides leadership for production, shipping, warehouse and maintenance departments, developing and directing initiatives.

  Lean

  • Reduce Downtime resulting from set-ups/coil-changes: Re-engineer standard industry set-up and coil-changeover practices using LEAN SMED (quick changeover) methods in a steel slitting environment.

  Position Summary

  The Quality Coordinator will perform distinct duties to support the local Quality Management System (QMS).   • Support and verification of all quality-related processes:
    
    • Incoming inspection and establishing traceability (Receiving).
    • In-process inspection (packaging, labelling, adherence to product specification).
    • Monitoring of stock product - raw materials and finished goods. (Warehousing).
    • Final inspection (Shipping).

  • Control and maintain all inspection, measuring and test equipment.
  • Maintain calibration of all test equipment on an ongoing basis.
  • Creation of Internal Non-Conformance Reports.
  • Control of returns from Customers including managing the RMA process.
  • Training production/plant associates on new or improved quality processes, both one-on-one and in a group setting.
  • Act as the point person for external audits such as CSSBI 61 certification.
  • Organize the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings (plan, take and distribute minutes, liaise with Corporate Health & Safety Manager as applicable).
  • Take direction from the Corporate Quality Manager to develop forms, manuals, instructions, standard operating procedures, Quality Alerts, etc. to support both the

  Position Summary

  The Machine Operator’s main responsibility is to operate, adjust and set up assigned mill lines independently while meeting production, quality, and safety requirements.

  Position Summary

  The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing HR support to the day-to-day operations to meet Divisional and Corporate objectives.   Position Summary

  Operates a press brake to manufacture components from metal coils. Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules. Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available. In addition, is responsible to set up and operate power-shear machines to cut steel into specified dimensions and angles.

  Position Summary

  The Millwright will carry out repair and preventive maintenance activities. This includes promptly diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and replacing parts for flat roll steel slitting lines, packaging equipment, banding tools and, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems.

  What you’ll do:

  Operational:

  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of Bailey’s machinery, equipment, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems while meeting scheduling priorities, safety, quality productivity and reliability requirements.
  • Supervise, co-ordinate and daily schedule the activities of maintenance workers to ensure orders can be completed meeting customers & inter departmental requirements.
  • Develop,  implement  &  maintain  schedules  &  procedures  for  preventive  maintenance programs in coordination with necessary departments and maintain logs / documents.
  • Advise daily the required repair time to scheduling, and production department if it takes more than 24 hours; Record equipment downtime and repair done in a systematic way.
  • Assist in the sourcing, negotiation and administration of contracts for the provision of supplies, parts and services for maintenance including annual inspection of material handling equipment.
  • Plan,  organize,  transfer, and install machineries and  equipment  as per manufacturer’s instructions without compromising safety.
  • Report on a daily basis and update on equipment requiring preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts. Develop required reporting forms, and documentation.
  • Help plan, monitor and manage maintenance budget.
  • Identify and implement work measures to continually improve maintenance work methods, systems, productivity, safety, and quality of service.
  • Provide any other assistance as requested by the management.
  • Able to work shift schedules according to accommodate production demands as required.

  Health and Safety:

  • Maintain working knowledge of all Health & Safety policies.
  • Correct and communicate on any unsafe acts/conditions to plant/ safety manager.
  • Support and promote all aspects of the corporate Health & Safety program.
  • Perform regular workplace inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled.
  • Monitor accident frequency and history and analysis injury data.
  • Report all accidents/incidents promptly, conduct investigation & act on recommendations.

  Other:

  Position Summary
  The main purpose is to operate, adjust and set up assigned mill lines independently while meeting production, quality, and safety requirements.

  What you’ll do:

  • Load steel and paper coil onto uncoilers using a crane
  • Tighten the uncoiler and cut straps on the coil
  • Activate machine using the control panel by selecting the order type
  • Set up and adjust rolls and conduct quality inspection checks
  • Gather products, strap into bundles, place bundles onto wagon, and apply product identification
  • Operate a crane and forklift

  What you’ll need:

  • Forklift and Overhead crane experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of hand tools such as tin snips, tape measures, and calipers
  • Good verbal communication skills in French and English
  • Willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently

  Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced-paced team environment
  • Ability to lift products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work shift work
  • Meet all safety policies and procedures
